2009 DMI Annual Dinner: Connecting with the Cities of Tomorrow
On Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center, a group of 500 DMI members, friends and downtown enthusiasts gathered in celebration of the 2009 DMI Annual Dinner. Attendees were treated to a great keynote presentation by David Bragdon, President of the Oregon Metro Council. The Annual Dinner also served as the venue to present the 14th annual Community Asset Awards. The awards were developed as a way to publicly thank individuals and organizations who contribute significantly to improving the quality of life within the downtown community.
The 2009 award recipients included the Downtown Design Professionals work group comprised of members of several leading planning, landscape architecture and architectural firms and the Downtown Real Estate Professionals work group, comprised of leading developers, commercial real estate brokers and real estate professionals. Members of these two groups collectively dedicated hundreds of hours of professional services to provide both a vision and specific recommendations that will help guide the City of Madison Downtown Plan.
