The Wisconsin chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) is thrilled to announce the upcoming Wisconsin Project Pipeline, a premier gathering of architecture professionals, students, advocates, and thought leaders. This multi-day camp exposes students in grades 6-12 to architecture.
On Friday evening June 14th, there will be a Wisconsin Project Pipeline kick-off and networking reception for event sponsors, architecture firms and other industry professionals at the Black Business Hub starting at 6pm.
The mission is to empower young people to affect change in their community through design and placemaking. Project Pipeline enables students to learn about the built environment from a host of industry professionals including architects, designers, landscape architects, interior designers, and others. Wisco NOMA advocates for equity and social justice through design while aiming to foster the next generation of design professionals and civic leaders.
Project Pipeline challenges students by asking them to think creatively about their community, giving them the opportunity to investigate how they can best activate change in those spaces through design. Camp attendees have a broader understanding of building design and problem solving. Students will return to their communities with the knowledge needed to create spaces that improve the areas they come from and the quality of life for its residents. Students and volunteers can register free of charge online at www.wisconoma.com.
