Sustain Dane’s April Sustainable Breakfast Series
You’re invited to the Sustain Dane April Sustainable Breakfast Series taking place on Tuesday, April 27 from 8:30-10:00am.
How do we build a stronger local food system? Sustain Dane is bringing together four local food leaders to talk about the intersection of food production, sourcing, consumer impact, and supporting diverse businesses in our region. 66% of Dane County total land is taken care of by farmers. How it’s managed, who tends the land, and where the yields go in our community are considerations for building a strong food system that leads to community wellbeing and acceleration of sustainability.
- Jess Guffey Calkins, Community Food Systems Educator with Extension Dane County will provide data and background knowledge on what we see produced and sold locally and moderate the panel.
- Hear from Elena Terry, Executive Chef & Founder of Wild Bearies, on indigenous food knowledge and resilient food systems.
- Kingsley Gobourne will share his experience starting Artemis Provisions and Cheese during this past year.
- Claire Strader, the Organic Vegetable Educator for Extension Dane County and FairShare CSA Coalition, will talk about how community supported agriculture has evolved this year and the perspective of farmers on providing food.
Join Sustain Dane to hear from these community leaders and learn how you can support their efforts to be a part of the sustainable food solution. For more info and to register, click here.
