Madison Night Market Celebrates Wisconsin & Its History
Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID) welcomes the entire community to the return of the Madison Night Market on August 21, from 5-9 p.m. on N. Carroll and W. Mifflin Streets on Capitol Square and the entire length of State Street. We’ll celebrate the rich culture of our state with the theme “Celebrating Wisconsin & Its History,” showcasing music, makers, and memories that honor Wisconsin’s heritage while exploring everything the market has to offer.
Celebrating Wisconsin & Its History

- Tootsie’s Teas: artisanal loose-leaf tea blends crafted for rich flavor and wellness.
- Blu Mountain Co.: handcrafted, nature-inspired jewelry and accessories made in Milwaukee
- James Steeno Gallery: vibrant, Milwaukee-themed art and prints celebrating local landmarks and landscapes
- Lush Popcorn: gourmet, small-batch popcorn in inventive sweet and savory flavors from Milwaukee
- Unfinished Legacy: bold, streetwear-inspired designs hand-printed in Milwaukee.
- Dueling Pianos in Francis Plaza – Piano Fondue brings high‑energy performances to the Madison Night Market, with lively polka interludes paying tribute to Wisconsin’s musical roots
- Historical Walking Tour of Downtown – pick up your free map at the Visitors Center (452 State St.) and discover the stories behind some of Downtown Madison’s most historically and architecturally significant buildings and businesses
Madison is known for great shopping, amazing food and a talented arts scene, and the Madison Night Market brings our urban experience together in celebration. Vendors and State Street retailers combine to showcase handmade products, local art, artisan gifts, artisanal foods, and fresh produce. The event includes live music, special visiting food carts, and pop-up restaurant experiences.
NEW: Family Activity Zone
Fun for the whole family! Where State Street meets Capitol Square, you’ll find the Madison Night Market Family Activity Zone, filled with a rotating slate of family-friendly activities to keep kids (and their grown-ups!) engaged and entertained. The August 21 market will feature:
- MSCR will bring their popular Clay on the Move van to the August 21 Madison Night Market, giving young attendees the chance to explore their creativity through fun, hands-on pottery activities.
- The Boy Scouts of America will offer a hands-on “Build Your Own Mini Rock-Climbing Wall” art project, inviting visitors of all ages to get creative while learning the basics of climbing.
