Event name: Step Up: Equity Matters
Date: Friday, April 5, 2019, 8:30–10:30am
Location: DreamBank, 821 East Washington Avenue
The Latino Professionals Association invites you to attend the next Step Up: Equity Matters workshop happening on Friday, April 5 from 8:30–10:30am at the DreamBank. This workshop titled, Disrupting Biases: An Individual Commitment, addresses the power of company culture in relation to attracting and retaining diverse customers, partners, suppliers, and employees.
We will look inside and identify existing company culture, its role in supporting diversity and inclusion efforts, and disrupting biases. Participants will learn how attitudes, inner biases, and personal backgrounds work together to shape a company’s culture. In understanding what an organization’s culture is, we can learn how to start disrupting biases and instead create an environment where a diverse workforce can cohesively move the company forward.
This is a highly interactive workshop. Through scenarios, sharing, and examples, participants will gain the skills and tools needed to challenge themselves and others to advocate for diversity, inclusivity, and equity with courageous conversations, and by disrupting biases.
The workshop includes 30-45 minutes of presentation and exercises, and 60-75 minutes of facilitated and guided conversations using different approaches, including practicing and sharing the challenges and successful tools acquired for disrupting biases. To register for this workshop, click here.
