“Over the past several years, the Madison Children’s Museum has worked to make it easier for low-income families to use the museum. Since 2015, a yearly Access membership for low-income families costs as little as $15.
But until the start of the 2016-2017 fiscal year, the Museum asked families to show proof of need by being enrolled in a safety net program such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps).
