Donations Needed for Lakefront Porch
You are probably aware of plans for the Lakefront Porch, an inviting neighborhood gathering spot to be built atop Crowley Station on East Wilson Street. You may not be aware that they are close to their year-end fundraising deadline. Can you make a charitable donation to help them achieve their goal of $525,000?
Any amount will help! To donate by check, please write a check to their fiscal sponsor, Madison Parks Foundation, note “Lakefront Porch” on the memo line, and send to Madison Parks Foundation, 1402 Wingra Creek Parkway, PO Box 259336, Madison, WI 53725. To donate by credit or bank transfer, please visit https://madisonparksfoundation.org/donate/form and select, ‘Lakefront Porch’.
A vibrant public space has been envisioned on the Crowley Station site since the 1995 First Settlement Neighborhood master plan. Nearly 28 years later, neighborhood volunteers have raised more than $300,000 of the $525,000 needed to transform the underused space atop the Water Utility’s well into a welcoming gathering place. The space will have a view of Lake Monona and include shade, a raised platform, tables and chairs, community gardens, bike racks, an ADA accessible ramp, and nighttime lighting.
