City of Madison is Hiring for Crime Reduction Community Development Specialist-LTE
The City of Madison Community Development Division (CDD) and Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) is currently seeking a qualified individual who will be responsible for providing outreach and building relationships with key Downtown stakeholders. The purpose of this outreach is to engage members of the public, community partners, and relevant groups in gathering input and information that leads to the development of a Downtown Public Safety Initiative plan. In addition, this position ensures the planning and implementation timeline and activities of the initiative are in compliance with agreements and requirements of the funder, the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) – Innovations in Community Based Crime Reduction (CBCR) program. This is a limited term 2 year project position is shared between the City of Madison’s Community Development Division (CDD) and Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC). This position will be provided direct oversight by PHMDC with supervision of the successful in the following services:
- Contract and project management
- Data analysis
- Policy and process implementation
- Strategic partnership cultivation,

The work will bring you in contact with a broad array of organizations and people reflecting a host of cultural and socio-economic perspectives. It demands that you cultivate strategic partnerships and recognize situations where the City can support projects, programs or initiatives that help strengthen neighborhoods and expand opportunities for residents.
