About the Woodson Foundation
The Carter G. Woodson Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for underserved youth and families throughout the Madison area. Their mission is driven by two core goals: providing community service and support to underserved families and youth, and awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education.
These goals come to life through four key program areas:
- Cultural Enrichment – Celebrating and preserving our shared heritage
- Scholarship Support – Opening doors to higher education
- Social Action Initiatives – Addressing critical community needs
- RIF (Reading is Fundamental) – Empowering early readers through literacy
