Hear downtown experts share ideas for greater collaboration, growth and investment.
DMI and Milwaukee Downtown are excited to partner with the Wisconsin Policy Forum to host a Viewpoint Luncheon live in Milwaukee as part of our event series, The Madison + Milwaukee Downtown Exchange! For this series, speakers from the two cities share ideas on how the regions can work together for greater collaboration, growth, and investment.
Can Downtowns Thrive in the New Normal?
The shift to remote working that was spurred by the pandemic continues to pose questions and challenges for downtowns across the country, which have seen restaurants reduce hours or shutter and employers consider reduced office footprints. While the degree to which workers will return to the office remains to be seen as the pandemic recedes, a loss of even a fraction of the downtown workforce could have vast consequences for businesses and residents.
Please join us as we partner with the Wisconsin Policy Forum to host a Viewpoint Luncheon, as part of the MSN+MKE Downtown Exchange Series, that will explore the state of downtowns in Wisconsin’s two largest cities: Milwaukee and Madison.
The event will begin with an update by Milwaukee Department of City Development Commissioner Lafayette Crump on the current effort to prepare a strategic update to the Downtown Area Plan in Milwaukee. Then, we’ll hear from a panel of downtown stakeholders from both Madison and Milwaukee.
