The Cap Times
1901 Fish Hatchery Rd., Madison, WI 53713

In 2017, the DMI Behind the Scenes series is highlighting locations all celebrating 100th anniversaries. The first program featured The Cap Times. The Cap Times and the Wisconsin State Journal have occupied the same building on Fish Hatchery Road since 1975 in a business partnership that dates to the late 1940s. A lot has changed since they moved from the Capitol Square. The Cap Times celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and remains true to founder William T. Evjue’s mission of championing progressive causes and the interests of regular people. Today, as a digital-first media company with a weekly tabloid newspaper, The Cap Times is built on independent, accurate and enterprising reporting, experienced voices providing progressive opinion, and a deep commitment to philanthropy, making Madison a better place to live.

Attendees enjoyed a special behind-the-scenes program to hear about the evolving media business, meet some of the people who make the Cap Times what it is and get a building tour to see the newspaper’s production areas and massive presses! Thank you to all of our sponsors and our host for helping make this possible!
